GPF-GPST Trains Officers On Selection & Recruitment Policy

The Gambia Police Force (GPF) took to their official Facebook page to share a significant milestone as they successfully concluded a week-long training program focused on the selection and recruitment policy, thanks to the invaluable support of the German Police Support Team (GPST) in the Gambia.
The training, which was held at the NaNA Conference Hall in Banjul, concluded on October 6, 2023, was a collaborative effort between the Gambia Police Force and GPST, and it aimed to enhance the GPF’s capacity to select and recruit officers effectively.
The Facebook statement went on to say that At the closing ceremony, Serap Bahadir, the project coordinator from the German Police Support Team, delivered a speech, emphasizing the critical importance of this training program. She highlighted that the selection process is the foundation upon which a reputable police force is built.

The Facebook post went on to say that Adeleine Bassangeh, Commissioner for the Kanifing Police Division, had the honor of representing the Inspector General of Police (IGP) at the closing ceremony. He expressed his delight and appreciation for the continuous support provided by GPST as part of the GPF’s ongoing reform agenda.
