The former National Assembly Member for Niamina East constituency, hon. Omar Ceesay announced his return to the teaching profession a few months after he lost his position as a National Assembly Member.
“Once A Teacher Is Always A Teacher! Back To The Teaching field,” hon Ceesay wrote on his Facebook page, with a picture of him writing on a Blackboard in front of a classroom filled with uniformed students.
Hon Omar Ceesay was a teacher before his election to the National Assembly Member in 2017. He left the teaching profession after winning the election in 2017 and served in the National Assembly for five years. He was defeated by the National People’s Party (NPP) candidate hon. Dawda Jeng during the last parliamentary election.
Hon. Omar Ceesay who is also the spokesperson for the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) is an ardent farmer who spent most of his time on his farm during the rainy season.
