Kanifing Magistrates’ Court Transfers Murder Trial To High Court

The Principal Magistrate of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, Omar Jabang, has transferred the murder trial of Ousainou, Bojang the alleged killer of two PIU officers at Sukuta Traffic Light and his sister, Amie Bojang, to the Special Criminal Division of the High Court of the Gambia.
The Prosecution requested the transfer, and Magistrate Jabang granted it, citing the Magistrates’ Court’s lack of jurisdiction to hear and determine murder cases.
Magistrate Jabang also ordered Ousainou Bojang and Amie Bojang to remain in police custody pending the hearing of the matter at the High Court of the Gambia.
