Barrow expresses condolences to Jammeh on mother’s demise
The Gambian leader Adama Barrow has expressed condolences to the former president of The Gambia, Yahya Jammeh, on the demise of his mother.
Jammeh’s mother, Aja Asombi Bojang, has passed away in Equatorial Guinea on Friday after a brief illness.
“Adama Barrow on behalf of the people of the Republic of The Gambia, the first family and on his own behalf expresses his condolences to the former Head of State and his family,” the State House on its official Facebook page.
Sources have confirmed to Kerr Fatou that arrangements are being made for Asombi’s remains will be buried in Gambia.
Though it is not clear which day the remains will arrive in Gambia. Asombi was living in exile with her only son who lost elections to Barrow on December 1, 2016.
