President Adama Barrow has advised young boys and girls in The Gambia to reject drugs, crime, and vices harmful to their well-being.

“Reject drugs, crime, ethnic rivalry and all vices that are harmful and obstacles to your well-being, and those around you,” he said.

“Condemn violence and division, embrace the nation, and strive to be useful and law-abiding patriots,” President Barrow continued.

He said the future is for the boys and girls to shape. The Gambian leader added that now is the time for the boys and girls to think about how they want to live in the future; saying “getting it right today means succeeding tomorrow.”

The president earlier today at the McCarthy square in Banjul, presided over the 56th Independence celebration of The Gambia, and during his speech, he gave this piece of advice to young boys and girls.
