By Buba Gagigo
Kemo Bojang, a young politician and Youth Councillor in the Kanifing Municipality has been nominated as one of the 100 most influential leaders in Africa by the Pan African Youth Leadership Foundation.
Speaking to KerrFatou after the announcement, Kemo acknowledged the tremendous work being undertaken by other young people around the country who are deserving of these awards but have not been lucky enough to be featured yet.
“I am elated and honoured to be awarded two years in a row. Yes, I might have been the one single out this time but there are a lot of young Gambians doing exceptional things in their own domains. I hope one day we can also honour and acknowledge each other in our Gambian way especially the young people in rural Gambia doing fantastic.
“I will like to end by thanking my constituents, the United Democratic Party, and my colleagues in council. Legislating and representing isn’t easy but we have been able to do so much by working as a team and i appreciate that. Hopefully, this will inspire other young people too,” Kemo Bojang told Kerr Fatou.
