The Secretary General and Party leader of the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) Mama Kandeh has appealed to individuals and companies doing business in The Gambia to donate two pick-ups to the security sector to secure the country.
“This message is going to all the business men in the country including the Banks. I Mama Kandeh is appealing to all the Banks in the Gambia to buy two pick-ups and give it to our police and army. I’m also appealing to Africell, Qcell, and Comium…I’m appealing to all business men like TAF Construction, Hamidou Jah and everybody to donate two pick-ups to our security.”
This plea of the opposition leader followed his recent call on the Minister of Interior, the Minister of Defence, the Inspector General of Police [IGP] and Director General of National Intelligence Agency [NIA] to help secure the country amid the recent attacks and killings in Sanyany, Busumbala and Gunjur, respectively.
He did the appeal at his party’s headquarters in Kololi on Monday, when two women groups in the settlement adopted him as honorary their father.
Mama Kandeh is the Secretary General and leader of opposition Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) party.
