The Gambia Transport Union (GTU) has congratulated the Gambia Government for organizing the 3rd Edition of the Presidential Council Meetings in Banjul from July 30th to August 1st, 2023. The GTU specifically thanked H.E. President Adama Barrow, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Gambians Abroad, and the Senegalo-Gambian Permanent Secretariat for their efforts in organizing the event.
“We express profound gratitude to our government, authorities, and other relevant agencies, particularly H.E. President Adama Barrow, for his commitment and visionary efforts in pushing for Senegambia integration.
We were privileged to have attended the 2nd edition of the Presidential Council Meetings in Dakar, sometime in 2020.
“In this 3rd Edition, we have seen a new energy of positive strides from our government authorities during discussions. Therefore, we commend our delegates and the government for making significant progress on follow-ups, as well as insightful submissions during Experts sessions, ministerial sessions, and presidential sessions,” GTU said.
The Gambia Transport Union has said that the government of The Gambia has demonstrated a “serious” commitment and offered genuine opinions during the meetings.
“We are of the conviction that this time, words will be translated into concrete actions for the betterment of the people of our two great nations. Various agreements and MOUs have been signed during the council meetings. The agreement on free movement, trade, and transportation is of particular significance to transport operators,” they concluded.
