Alieu Sowe, former National Coordinator and Flag Bearer of the Gambia Action Party, has resigned from the party, citing personal and family considerations as the primary reasons for his decision.

In a resignation letter addressed to the party and seen by Kerr Fatou, Sowe expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and lead the Gambia Action Party, acknowledging the trust placed in him by its members during his tenure as the flag bearer in the 2021 presidential elections.

“I write to formally inform the Gambia Action Party of my resignation as a member of the party with immediate effect due to reserved personal and family reasons. I am honoured and* privileged to be a member and to have served as the National Coordinator of the Gambia Action Party for at least two years.” Sowe stated in the letter

Sowe also commended the party’s executive members for their effective leadership in adhering to the party’s constitution during his time of service.

“I would like to express my unreserved appreciation to all Gambia Action Party members across the country for bestowing confidence in me to lead you as the flag bearer in the 2021 presidential elections. I would sincerely thank and recognise the executive members of the party for the stewardship leadership shown in steering the affairs of the party and adhering to the dictates of the Gambia Action’s constitution during the pre-nomination period of 2021,” This move marks the end of Alieu Sowe’s tenure as both National Coordinator and Flag Bearer of the Gambia Action Party.
