The Police spokesperson, Cadet Assistant Superintendent Binta Njie-Jatta has said that a young lady suspected of killing a man at the Friendship Hotel in Bakau has been arrested.
“The information reached the police at around 3 am. For now, the suspected person is a young lady that is said to be lodged with him at the Hotel. The Police visited the scene and the lady is arrested and is helping the police with the investigation. When the police visited the place at around 3 am, the lady was not there. This was said to have happened earlier before 3am, but the police received information at around 3am,” she said.
Spokesperson Njie-Jatta decided to withhold the identity of the deceased, until after their preliminary investigation is completed.
Meanwhile, a dispatch by the management of Friendship Hostel said that the man, before today’s incident, lodged the lady now arrested by the police.
“A man has been found dead at the Friendship Hostel after lodging with a woman. The Police have arrested the woman alleged to have murdered the man. The Police have removed the dead body and the police have mounted an investigation into the alleged murder,” the dispatch stated.
This is the second suspected killing in the area this month that the police are said to be investigating. The first was the case of a 62-year-old resident in Fajara on 4th September.
