The National Campaign manager for the United Democratic Party (UDP), Momodou Sabally, on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023, said the peace of The Gambia lays in the hands of his party leader, Lawyer Ousainou Darboe.
“Majority of the country’s population is behind him and you cheated him in the Presidential elections, his people begged him not to agree with the results of the election and that is his Democratic right not to agree
“You throw teargas in his compound, you beat the women and your top adviser was seen in a video bragging about throwing teargas on us. Adama Barrow and his government and the elders of this country should thank Alhagi Ousainou Darboe and pray for his well-being because he is the peace of this country. The peace of this country at this moment is with him,” said Momodou Sabally.
The UDP Campaign Manager insists that the government’s ‘violation’ of its citizen’s rights should stop;
“Enough is enough. To violate of the rights of people needs to stop. It is not easy to run a government, we all agree with that because I was working in the government but to inflict pain on us deliberately that we will not agree.
“I know that they want me to stop doing politics and to stop talking but I will add it and not reduce it. I heard all that they were saying, ‘the political party that he is killing himself for let’s see what they will do about this’ but I am very grateful to the UDP,” he add.
The United Democratic Party campaign manager made these remarks at the UDP Bureau in Manjai where he was presented with a Cash of two-handed thousand dalasis (D200,000) from his party.
