Senegal Releases 102 Gambian Migrants Intercepted at Sea

Gambian Migrants intercepted by the Senegalese naval forces

One hundred and two Gambian migrants, including four girls, who were intercepted by Senegalese naval forces last Thursday while attempting to reach Spain by sea were released by the Senegalese authorities on Monday.

One of the migrants told Kerr Fatou on Monday, “Thank you for your story. We have been released.”

The boat carrying the migrants started its journey in Nuimi Lamin with 109 migrants on board, including 102 Gambians and seven Senegalese
