Babucarr Bahaga (21) has been arrested for the alleged stabbing death of Sakouba Drammeh (18) in Dampha Kunda on Sunday, October 22, 2023.
Cadet ASP Modou Musa Sisawo, Acting Police PRO, confirmed the incident to Kerr Fatou. He said that Bahaga and Drammeh were involved in a fight between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Sunday, and that Bahaga stabbed Drammeh with a pair of scissors on the left side of the chest and at the back of the neck.
Bahaga then reported to the police station that he had been assaulted. He was escorted to the hospital for his own injuries, where he was later discharged and taken back to the police station. He then confessed to stabbing Drammeh, claiming that Drammeh had also stabbed him.
Drammeh was also taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body has been transferred to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital for postmortem.
An eyewitness told Kerr Fatou that the two men had been involved in a fight at a musical event in Dampha Kunda, but the police have not confirmed this.
Bahaga is currently under custody and has not been charged at this time.
