Police To Capture Stray Animals
By Ramatoulie Jawo
The police have announced that with partners, they would commence an operation to ensure there are no stray animals within the Greater Banjul Area, particularly at public places.
“Stray animals found roaming around public places will be captured and restrained at an identified location. Consequently, for owners to regain their animals, penalties will be awarded in accordance with the law,” a statement on the Poliso Magazine said today.
The statement by the Police came after they observed with “great concern” that domestic animals such as sheep, goats, donkeys, and cattle indiscriminately roam in public places, including highways.
They “strictly” urged the public, particularly owners to restrain and control their animals, and also solicit the cooperation and understanding of the public.
