Jerrending Sanyang, the National Mobilizer of APRC No To Alliance, has confirmed to Kerr Fatou that the police revoked their rally permit and deployed tear gas on them at Buffer Zone on Sunday night.

“They arrived after the program had already commenced and informed us of the permit revocation. Subsequently, the paramilitary police deployed tear gas, resulting in injuries to some individuals who were then apprehended by the police. Our representatives have been summoned to Bandung Police Station for clarification. We are committed to abiding by the law,” he stated.

Cadet ASP Binta Njie Jatta, a police spokesperson, claims the group violated permit conditions and were instructed to disperse and reapply.

“They were said to have violated the permit conditions and were therefore advised to disperse and reapply, but they failed to cooperate.  So they were forced to disperse.”
