Kitabu Fatty, the leader of the People Democratic Party (PDP) said only Essa Faal can take the Gambia forward.
“The Gambia as a country needs a great leader and to have that great leader, we need somebody who is selfless, who is very experienced and who is willing to do everything for the development of this nation. PDP as a party we believe and we know that the rightful person to rule this nation and to push us to the next level or forward is Essa Mbye Faal.
“PDP had a chat with Essa Faal and of course, we had a chat with other political parties. But since we sat down with Essa Faal we were very happy because what is in us, that’s what is in Essa Faal. Our ambition and our know-how on how a country should run, the suffering Gambians are facing, [and] the one who can solve these problems is someone who is educated, loves Gambians and is not a tribalist, that’s what Essa Faal is. That’s why we endorsed him,” Mr Fatty said.
The PDP leader made these remarks on Thursday at a press conference in Kerr Sering; where he formally announced his support for the former TRRC lead counsel.
Essa Faal is one of the presidential aspirants optimistic of victory in the December 4th election.
