NPP and Coalition Partners Apportioned Positions Ahead of Local Government Elections

The coalition of National People’s Party (NPP), National Reconciliation Party (NRP), and Alliance for Patriotic Re-orientation and Construction (APRC) party have apportioned areas of the country each constituent party of their coalition will contest in the forthcoming Local Government elections.
According to a document seen by Kerr Fatou, the National People’s Party (NPP) will file candidates for all wards in Banjul. The other coalition partners will defer to them in the capital city.
The Kanifing Municipality has a little bit of diversity in candidate and party selection. All wards in the Kanifing Municipality will be filled by the NPP except for the Abuko, Bundung 6 Junction, Tallinding North, Ebo Town, and Kotu/Manjai Wards which are reserved for the APRC candidates.
The West Coast Region has an interesting mix as well. Coalition constituent party, APRC will file candidates for all Foni Wards except for Sintet Ward and Bantanjang Ward which will be filled by the National People’s Party (NPP).
APRC will also file candidates in Kunkujang, Jabang, and Lamin wards, while NPP will file candidates for the rest of the wards in the West Coast Region.
The North Bank Region will be swept in candidature for the NPP. The National People’s party will file candidates for all the wards in the North Bank Region.
In CRR North, NRP will fill Nianija, Njau, Kaur, and Panchang wards while NPP will file candidates for the rest of the Wards in the region.
NPP will file candidates for all of the wards in CRR South, URR, and LRR.
