The Secretary-General and Party Leader of the Gambia Action Party (GAP), Musa Batchilly, has accused president Adama Barrow’s government of losing ‘Sanity’ and Sense of Direction.
“The Barrow-led administration contributed to damaging our national and international reputation through corruption and embezzlement. Our coffers are being emptied, diverting public funds for personal enrichment are the guiding principles of this the so-called government that lost sanity and sense of direction,” he said.
The GAP leader also accused the Country’s National Assembly Members of corruption;
“Even at the parliamentary level, for the first time ever, the people’s representatives and last hope are also practicing a high level of corruption through bureaucratic foul-play under the pretense of unnecessary allowances,” the GAP leader said.
He added, “We are keeping a tab on all those working to bend the public funds for personal gains–they shall be brought to justice for a day to come. COVID-19 funds, OIC road projects, and national development gains are all twisted through the bureaucracy. OIC road project on the Bertil Harding Highway to the airport junction lanes are trickled down to tiny roads even after dismantling people’s properties and the lifespan of the project is prolonging due to mismanagement of funds”.
Mush Yali Batchilly made these remarks at his Party’s National Congress last Thursday where he was reelected Secretary General and Party Leader.
