A prominent supporter of the National People’s Party (NPP), Pa Njie Girigara has come after his party leader, saying his government is not ‘functioning’.
‘If you love someone you should tell him the truth and tell him what you feel about him. So that he will remember what you tell him when he goes to bed. President Barrow, your government is not functioning. I Pa Njie Girigara is the one who said it. The people in your government are only interested in travelling and collecting per diem. Starting From the ministers, Permanent Secretaries, managing directors, all of them should regulate their travelling.
“There are ministers that do not stay two weeks without flying. ‘I am going to attend a meeting, conference’, they are attending all these meetings and conferences without bringing anything apart from empty talks. Some of them will not even bring any presentation of what they take from the meeting. Their interest is only travelling to discover new places, but not for the country,” he said in an audio recording obtained by Kerr Fatou.
Pa Njie Girigara is a strong supporter of President Adama Barrow and his government. He was part of the people who supported the President to win the 2021 presidential election.
