Sulayman Sumareh Janneh, Managing Director of the National Roads Authority (NRA), has strongly defended the development agenda of President Adama Barrow, while affirming his unwavering loyalty to the head of state.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 12-kilometer Brufut–Madiana–Banyaka–Kunkujang Mariama road, Janneh dismissed suggestions that the president’s emphasis on infrastructure achievements amounts to political messaging.

“President Barrow is not politicking; he is working,” Janneh said. “If highlighting completed projects is considered politics, then what defines politics if leaders cannot speak about the work they are delivering?”

He further praised the president’s track record, noting that Barrow consistently fulfills his commitments. According to Janneh, the president ensures that all pledges are backed by implementation, holding relevant institutions accountable for delivery.

Addressing comparisons made by earlier speakers between the current administration and past governments, including those of Dawda Jawara and Yahya Jammeh, Janneh observed that previous development efforts were often concentrated in limited parts of the country.

He argued that the Barrow administration has expanded development more broadly, attributing the president’s growing support base to the visible impact of his projects nationwide.

“President Barrow, we believe in what you are doing, and we will stand with you to the end,” Janneh said. “Every Gambian should take pride in the progress being made under his leadership.”
