Mr. Kebba Dem, the National People’s Party (NPP) candidate for the Mansakonko Area Council Chairperson seat, submitted his credentials to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) on Sunday, April 30, 2023, in Mansa Konko.

Speaking to the media shortly after submitting his documents to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), Mr. Kebba Dem, the National People’s Party (NPP) candidate for the Mansakonko Area Council Chairperson seat, said he is for the NPP because he believes that the party is the only one that can bring development to the people of the Lower River Region (LRR).

“It is evident that LRR lacks development, and we all know the reason. The people in the council are not in the same line as the sitting government. That’s why development is not coming to LRR. So I am contesting under the NPP ticket so that I can bring development to LRR,” Mr. Dem told Journalists.

Mr. Dem said if elected, he will bring a lot of developments for the people of LRR. He would focus on providing gardens and constructing feeder roads in the LRR. He also said that he would empower agriculture by improving rice cultivation in the region.

Mr. Dem was accompanied by numerous top brass of the NPP, including Cabinet Ministers.

The Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Hon. Seedy Keita, the Minister of Health Dr. Ahmadou Lamin Samateh, and Rohey John Manjang, the Minister of Environment were all in attendance to witness the nomination of the NPP Candidate.

The ruling NPP’s candidate, Mr. Dem, would go head-to-head with the incumbent Landing B. Sanneh of the main Opposition United Democratic Party (UDP) in the upcoming Local Government Elections.
