MoHERST Inaugurates Committee For Development Of A TVET Center On Fisheries

The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST) inaugurated a committee on Wednesday to establish a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Center for Fisheries.
The committee, according to a statement posted online, is made up of experienced personnel from the Gambia Government and the private sector who are specialized in fisheries and related fields.
The MoHERST statement on Facebook said that the Minister of Higher Education, Hon. Professor Pierre Gomez has tasked the committee to develop a full proposal with recommendations.
“The Minister of Higher Education, Hon. Professor Pierre Gomez tasked the Committee to work towards developing a full proposal, with recommendations of programmes to be taught, the type of infrastructure to be built, cost of implementation, among others.”
Funding will be sought once the proposals and recommendations are completed from the government and development partners.
“Upon completion, Hon Gomez informed that the proposal will be shared with the Gambia government and development partners in order to generate funds for operationalization.” the statement concluded.
