The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) has dismissed claims that schools were to reopen on Monday 8 June, 2020 after a press release on the relaxation of state of emergency restrictions.
The ministry stated that the date for the reopening of schools would be announced later by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
A Press release sent to Kerr Fatou, indicated that the Ministry takes this matter very seriously and therefore wishes to warn all those that are engaged in peddling such wrong information to the public to desist from it as there is no date yet fixed for schools’ reopening.
“The Ministry is hereby urging the public to ignore such information circulating in the social media and wait for the official announcement of the exact date for the reopening of schools in general and any examination class in particular which will be circulated to the various mediums in the country,” the release concludes.
