Gambia and Senegalese authorities at the meeting in Mansakonko

In a recent Facebook post, the Gambian Government announced that on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, the Ministry of Transport, Works, and Infrastructure, in collaboration with other ministries, hosted the Senegalese Minister of Works and a high-profile delegation for a meeting at Mansakonko. 

The meeting aimed to address the current border situation between Senegal and The Gambia, with the goal of strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.

“The Gambian delegation includes the Minister of Transport, Minister of Interior, Minister of Finance, Minister of Trade, Minister of Information, Commissioner General of GRA, Inspector General of Police, Director of The Gambia Immigration Department, and Director of The Gambia Transport Service Company Limited,” the statement reads. 

The Facebook post mentions that the Senegalese delegation consists of the Minister of Infrastructure and Land Transport and Aerial, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, the Cabinet Director of MITTA, the High Commander of the Gendarmerie, the Director General of the National Police, the Director General of Customs, the Director General of Transport, protocol officials, two technical advisors to the Ministers, and the President of the Transporters Syndicate.
