Lady Sarjo Mballow, the second wife of President Adama Barrow, has called on Gambian women to support the president’s re-election bid, citing his record on development and peace as reasons he should remain in office.

Speaking at State House to a group of women who honored her as an adopted mother, Lady Mballow urged them to extend the same affection they have for her to President Barrow. She cautioned against replacing him with an unfamiliar figure, warning that Gambians might later regret such a decision.

“The love you have for me, I want you to extend it to President Adama Barrow. His focus, day and night, is on advancing The Gambia, particularly improving the welfare of women,” she said.

Lady Mballow noted that the president has met the expectations of Gambians by delivering peace and development, which she described as the country’s primary aspirations. She emphasized that after nearly a decade in office, Gambians are well acquainted with President Barrow’s leadership.

“Peace is more precious than anything else, and President Barrow has delivered that. Therefore, he should not be replaced,” she added.

She further stated that President Barrow is committed to the country’s progress and called on women to vote for him in the upcoming December 5 presidential election.

Lady Mballow concluded her remarks by appealing to Gambian women to rally behind the president and support his re-election.
