Gambian sprint sensation Gina Mariam Bass has secured consecutive victories in the women’s 100-meter race in Douala, Cameroon. Demonstrating exceptional speed and determination, she crossed the finish line ahead of her competitors, solidifying her reputation as one of Africa’s premier track and field stars.
“Congratulations, Gina Mariam, for winning the back-to-back gold medal of the African champion. We are proud of you and forever,” her husband Mustapha Bittaye wrote on Facebook.
Human Rights activist Madi Joberteh also expressed his admiration, writing, “Ooohhh Gina, our Gina. The Gambian Amazon who has become the African Champ! Unbeatable. Invincible. Unstoppable! Bass’s electrifying performance not only captivated fans around the world but also highlighted the depth of her talent and the hard work she has put into her craft.”
Gina made history last March by winning her first gold medal in the 100 meters at the African Games.
