Ferries To Stop Operations At 8pm As 10 days Of Maintenance Begins On Friday

The Gambia Ferry Service Company Limited has in a press release dated 6th April 2023 announced that they will begin ten days of maintenance at the Barra Ferry terminal, and the ferries plying the route will stop operations at 8pm every day effective Friday 7th April 2023 through Monday, April 17th 2023.

“The Gambia Ferry Service Company Limited (GFSC) wishes to inform its esteem customers that the Barra Ferry terminal is severely affected by siltation, thereby causing some disruptions in their service delivery. Consequently, the General public is being informed that Maintenance Dredging will be carried out in order to restore the desirable depth effective Friday 7th April 2023. The Dredging exercise will continue for ten days and expected to be completed on Monday 17th April 2023. The public is thereby informed that the ferry services operation will end at 8.00pm every day from Barra Ferry Terminal,” the Ferry Service said in a press release posted on their Facebook page.
