Former National People’s Party (NPP) West Coast executive Fanding Baldeh was released without charge on Thursday after being reportedly questioned by officers at the Kanifing Mobile Traffic Unit over a political message displayed on his vehicle.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Mr. Baldeh was questioned extensively about a “No to Third Term” sign affixed to the rear of his Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. Officers also examined the vehicle’s registration and insurance documents, which sources said were found to be valid and in order.
The questioning took place in the presence of Mr. Baldeh’s legal counsel. Following the interview, he was released without any charges being brought against him.
Earlier in the day, officers from the Kanifing Mobile Traffic Unit went to Mr. Baldeh’s residence in Brikama at approximately 2:30 p.m. and requested that he accompany them to the station. He subsequently drove his own Toyota Tacoma to the Kanifing Mobile Traffic Unit, where the interview was conducted.
