Mamour Jobe appointed Inspector General of Police

The Gambia Police Force has announced the confirmation of the appointment of Alhagie Mamour Jobe as the Inspector General of Police with effect from 9 July 2018 after acting in the position for two weeks.

IGP Jobe takes over the leadership of GPF with 37 years of vast and rich policing experience.

His appointment came few days after the resignation of Landing Kinteh, the former IGP who resigned from his position following the deadly Faraba killings.

Jobe served in various units of the Police Force. “It is hoped that he will steer the police force towards greater professionalism and efficiency in law enforcement and general security of The Gambia,” the police said in their official Facebook page.

Meanwhile, AIG Abdoulie Sanyang has been appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police.

Sanyang who until his appointment served as Assistant Inspector General of Police Administration, has 25 years policing experience and previously served as PRO, Personal Assistant to the IGP, Human Resource Officer among others.
