The National Assembly Member for Foni Kansala and prominent figure within the No-To Alliance Movement, Hon. Almameh Gibba, has confirmed that former President Yahya Jammeh continues to serve as the movement’s leader.

“Jammeh is still our leader, and he is still going to be our leader,” Gibba stated during an interview with Think Point Podcast.

According to Gibba, Jammeh has been briefed on the movement’s position regarding coalition negotiations and has expressed his approval.

“What he, Jammeh, has been told, that’s what he knows, and that’s what he is aware of, that we are the ones who put up a candidate and those ones (other oppositions) to support us. He said Why not,” Gibba said, indicating Jammeh’s openness to alliances.

However, Gibba emphasized that Jammeh has drawn a firm line regarding certain partnerships. “What Jammeh made very clear, and we all know, and he is still insisting, is that he said no to alliance with NPP,” Gibba said, referring to the ruling National People’s Party. He added that the movement remains open to collaboration with other opposition parties.

The Foni Kansala representative also disclosed that the No-To Alliance is currently evaluating its strategic options ahead of the 2026 elections, which may include forming coalitions with other parties or fielding an independent candidate.

“As an executive, we’ll call for an executive meeting seriously to go into exploring 2026, in order to join forces or to be on our own,” he said
