4 Arrested For Allegedly Possessing Prohibited, Controlled Substances
The Drug Law Enforcement Agency of The Gambia’s (DLEAG) Banjul command reported arresting a Malian bus driver and 3 other Gambians for allegedly possessing prohibited and controlled substances.
The agency alleged that the Malian driver possessed one hundred and one (101) sachets of clonazepam, twenty (20) sachets of tafrodol and six (6) sachets of cimendinci (all controlled drugs) at the time of his arrest.
“The said suspected controlled drugs were wrapped in a black nylon bag and the means of conveyance is a white bus with registration number BD 6569 MD. He (Malian) was clutched in Banjul on the 18 November 2021 around 18:40 PM onwards,” DLEAG said in a statement on Friday evening.
Similarly, six people are subject of an investigation relating to the seizure of one hundred and ninety eight (198) big bundles and twenty (20) parcels of suspected cannabis sativa, the statement added.
Three of the suspects arrested on Friday (today) are currently in custody; and a manhunt was launched for the other 3 suspects at large, while an investigations into the matter continues, according to the statement.
