The Gambia Under 20, Scorpions, will play against Central African Republic at 7pm today in the AFCON quarterfinal in Mauritania.

The Scorpions had a slow start in the tournament, losing their first game 1-0 against Morocco, and a 1 all draw against Tanzania, but produced a fantastic display against Ghana winning 2-1. It’s their first win in the tournament, which secured them a second place in the group.

Like the Scorpions, Central African Republic also had only a win in their group stage games leading to their qualification to the quarterfinal. They open the tournament with a 1-1 draw against Namibia, 3-1 defeat to Burkina Faso, and a 2-1 win over Tunisia.

The match will be played at the Olympic Stadium in Nouakchott, Mauritania. Both Teams are anticipating for a win to proceed to the Semifinal of the tournament.
