His Excellency, Vice President, Badara A. Joof received in audience a visiting World Bank team at State House on Friday.
The team was led by Mr. Nathan Belete, World Bank Country Director for Cape Verde, Senegal, Gambia, and Guinea Bissau.
They were at the Office of the Vice President to discuss with him the implementation statuses of World Bank-funded programmes in the country and to express their willingness to support The Gambia in their next funding cycle.
His Excellency Joof extended gratitude to the Bank for their support and suggested prioritisation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Social Protection, and the 2023 Nation Population and Housing Census in their next cycle of support.
Mr Belete expressed optimism that the Bank would increase their support for The Gambia, especially in these trying times.
