The Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital was yesterday, December 6, 2022, presented with items worth two hundred thousand Dalasis by the management of Trust Bank Gambia Limited as part of their annual corporate social responsibility presentation to health care facilities across the country.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Deputy Managing Director of Trust Bank Gambia Limited, Mr. Omar Mboob, said the choice of donating to the only Maternal and Children’s hospital in the country, responsible for providing care for women during pregnancy and childbirth as well as for newborn infants, is most appropriate.

“The presentation today does not only include medical supplies, but the love and generosity of the Trust Bank family to the people of Kanifing Municipality. At Trust Bank, our corporate social responsibility program is grounded on the principles of sharing and caring. This donation proves once again that those are not mere words to us but a true demonstration of what we represent” Mboob said

He added that their partnership with Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital is new, but they are confident that it is the first of many more to come.

“Our strategic objective is to complement government’s efforts in maternal health care. We are aware that the Government of The Gambia is committed to reducing our high maternal mortality rates and seeks to do so through collaboration and partnerships with all stakeholders” Mboob highlighted

The CEO of Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Dr Mamady Cham, thanked the Management of Trust Bank Gambia for their trust and kind gesture.

A representative of the Regional Director of Health, Ms. Fatoumatta Dibba, said Maternal and Child health are top priorities on the agenda of the Ministry of Health

“You brought items that will help us improve the quality of care” she said
