During the presentation ceremony, Njilan Senghore, the Managing Director of Trust Bank, highlighted the crucial role played by the Kanifing General Hospital in providing essential care to the local community. Senghore emphasized the hospital’s significance as a beacon of hope, healing, and support during vulnerable moments for individuals and families. As a socially responsible corporate entity, Trust Bank views it as a duty to support such noble causes.

“Kanifing General Hospital is a vital institution within our community, providing essential medical services to those in need. It is a place of hope, healing, and caring for individuals and families during their most vulnerable moments. As a responsible corporate citizen, it is our duty to support such an institution’s noble cause.

”When we reflect on Trust Bank’s success, we acknowledge the role played by the communities in which we operate. It is through the support and patronage of the Gambian community that we have achieved substantial growth and prosperity. Therefore, it is only fitting that we give back to those who have contributed to our success,” she said.

The donation, according to Senghore, symbolizes Trust Bank’s enduring commitment to improving the quality of life for all. Emphasizing healthcare as a fundamental right, she stressed that every individual, regardless of socio-economic background, deserves access to high-quality medical services. Senghore hopes the donation will inspire other organizations to contribute to meaningful causes.

“This donation is not just a financial contribution; it is a symbol of our enduring commitment to improve the quality of life for everyone. We believe that healthcare is a fundamental right, and every individual deserves access to high-quality medical services, regardless of their socio-economic background. Moreover, we want this donation to also serve as an inspiration and a reminder that making a positive impact is something we can collectively achieve. We hope that our actions will inspire other organizations to follow suit and extend their support to causes that truly matter,” she said.

In response, Kanifing General Hospital’s CEO, Basiru Drammeh, expressed gratitude for Trust Bank’s donation, highlighting its potential to save numerous lives within the hospital. Drammeh specifically noted the positive impact of reducing infection rates in the maternal ward and decreasing maternal and patient mortality.
