27

The Commission established to probe the human right violations of the former dictator Yahya Jammeh will signed a memorandum of understanding with the Gambia Centre for Victims of Human Rights Violations.

The Victims Centre was established by rights activist as a pressure group to fight for justice for Gambians whose rights were abused under the former ruler.

The Truth, Reconciliation and Reparation Commission is currently working with the Victims Centre as a representative of the voice of the victims of the past regime.

The MOU will be penned on Tuesday, the 9th of October 2018, at 12:00 noon, at the premise of the Victims’ Centre located in Kololi, Senegambia.

“The purpose of the event is to create an efficient working relationship between the TRRC and the Victims’ Centre and to invite all the victims of the 1994 coup d’etat to register with the Victims’ Centre,” stated TRRC in an email.
