The Truth Reconciliation and Reparations Commission (TRRC) has recommended a life-ban on former president Yahya Jammeh from holding public office.
“The Commission recommends to prosecute Yahya Jammeh for the crimes referred to in this report and impose a life-ban on him from holding public office. Prosecution of all the Junglers and other persons listed for their complicity in crimes referred to in this report subject to the grant of amnesty that the Amnesty Committee may recommend,” it stated.
The commission’s recommendation came after its findings found the former head of state responsible for crimes mentioned in the report such as rape, murder, and tortures etc.
Government yesterday made the TRRC report public, after the submission of the report to Barrow in November.
