Senegal: Ministry of education announced temporary closure of schools ahead of 3days mass protest

Senegal’s ministry of education has announced the temporary closure of all schools across the country for the period March 8 to March 13.

This is coming ahead of the appearance in court on Monday of detained opposition leader Ousmance Sonko who is accused of rape and charged separately for “disrupting public order and participating in an unauthorized demonstration.

Earlier this morning, Delta flights in and out of Dakar, Senegal were reportedly cancelled as the country braces for more violence on Monday.
