Police Identify Suspects Of Alleged Shoplifting Scandal

The two women suspects in the viral CCTV footage allegedly shoplifting at a clothing store at Serekunda market have now been identified and arrested according to the Poliso Magazine.
“On Saturday 1st May 2021, Police received a complaint that over D200, 000 was stolen from a garment shop at Serekunda market. The complainant alleged that CCTV surveillance captured two unidentified women in veil believed to be the suspects. Police swiftly opened up an investigation into the matter,” the police said on their platform ‘The Poliso Magazine’.
The police continued that preliminary investigations they conducted identified the two women as “Kumba Secka and Mai Baldeh”.
During investigations, police informed that they also recovered cash amounting to One Hundred and Twenty Eight Thousand Fifty Dalasi (D128, 050. 00) and several new clothes believed to have been bought by the duo “probably” from the stolen money.
They are currently helping the police in their ongoing investigations.
This development followed media reports of the said CCTV footage featuring two women covered in a veil allegedly stealing in a clothing store at Serekunda market.
