Ministry of Information Renamed to Ministry of Information, Media, and Broadcasting Services

The Government of The Gambia has officially renamed the Ministry of Information to the Ministry of Information, Media, and Broadcasting Services, citing an expansion of the Ministry’s responsibilities.
“The Ministry of Information wishes to inform the general public that His Excellency, President Adama Barrow, has approved the renaming of the Ministry of Information to the Ministry of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services.”This change reflects the Ministry’s expanded mandate, which now includes broader responsibilities in the fields of media and broadcasting services, alongside its continued role in the dissemination of public information,” the Ministry announced on Monday.
The Ministry further expressed confidence that the new name aligns with national priorities and reflects the evolving media landscape.
“By this notice, the Ministry also informs the public that the official name change has been gazetted by the Ministry of Justice.”We thank the public for their continued support and cooperation as we transition into this new phase,” the statement concluded.
