Mama Kandeh Urges NPP Leader To Join GDC

The Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) leader has urged the National People’s Party leader, President Adama Barrow to join the GDC party.
Hon. Mama Kandeh further called on defected GDC supporters to return to the party at a press conference held at a local hotel on Wednesday.
The GDC leader made the call when asked whether he would want to see the defected GDC supporters return, a call earlier made by MC Cham Jr, the GDC national youth president.
“MC was speaking on behalf of GDC. And I’m the Secretary General and flag bearer of the party. I am starting from President Adama Barrow to come to the GDC, not only talking about people that have left the party, but I’m starting from President Adama Barrow, my brother. So meaning, I want every Gambian to come and join the GDC,” he responded.
The GDC leader said his party has nothing against anyone and it is not fighting with anyone.
“Those that believe that they have come to learn in the GDC and (are) now qualified, I’m happy if they think they can do it on their own. I don’t own anybody. Nobody owes me an obligation. I’m not paying anybody a salary. It is not a force that anybody should be a member of GDC. So, I’m happy if you become a member of the party, but again it is your right to remain in the party, or leave. Until now, nobody has left the party and I mentioned your name on a platform,” he concluded.
Hon. Kandeh also condemned the recent killings in the Gambia, and called on the Ministry of Health to give details of the new birth certificate.
Mama Kandeh is the Secretary General and leader of the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC). Several of his party supporters have joined President Barrow’s National People’s Party. They include the current Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Demba Sabally, who was the GDC national president.
