Maimuna Ceesay Darboe, the National People’s Party (NPP) Diaspora Secretary, has denied any interest in being the NPP National Women Mobilizer. She also claimed that Maimuna Baldeh feels threatened by her presence.

“If I wanted the women mobilizer position, belie Maimuna Baldeh wouldn’t have gotten it. I swear to the Quran, she wouldn’t have gotten the position. I never wanted the position and I have never lobbied for it, and I have informed her people that I was not interested when they asked. Just that people feel I should be the one at the position because of my relationship with President Barrow, but I was not interested,” she said.

The nominated National Assembly Member said If she was interested, President Adama Barrow wouldn’t have given the National Women Mobilizer position to current holder Maimuna Baldeh;

“If I had been interested in the position, President Barrow would not have given it to her. However, the lady cannot stand my political presence, ability, and talent. We have never quarreled or fought. Even when the president called her and asked her what happened, she said nothing happened. I told her that my political presence, talent, and strength are here to stay. I told her that if she does things right, I will do her politics and mine. She will be like the president in front of the women. However, she is someone who cannot comport herself around me. She feels very threatened when she sees me, but she cannot explain the problem between us.” Maimuna Ceesay Darboe told Kerr Fatou.

Maimuna Ceesay Darboe, the National People’s Party (NPP) Diaspora Secretary, was speaking to Kerr Fatou on Tuesday in a special interview with Kerr Fatou earlier today.
