The leader of Gambia Moral Congress [GMC], Mai Ahmed Fatty welcomes the launch of National People’s Party [NPP], and congratulates them on the development.
“It was the turn of the NPP to officially launch their own, last Staurday. We welcome them into the arena, and further congratulate them for conducting a peaceful event. Now, let us level the playing field; and make it a contest of competitive ideas, not a confrontation. The Gambia will be better, and our democracy shall be the winner,” he states on his Facebook page.
The one time Interior Minister and adviser to President Barrow acknowledges the growth of Gambia’s democracy.
“Gambia’s democracy is growing without a reverse gear,” he says.
Fatty’s party was a member of the coalition 2016 which brought Barrow to power. Then, he was appointed as the Interior Minister, before been fired from the ministerial post, and rehired as adviser to the president, a post he later voluntary quit.
