Macky Sall Appoints Amadou Ba As Prime Minister
By Buba Gagigo
Senegalese President, Macky Sall, today appointed 61-year-old Amadou Ba the new prime minister of the country, a statement from the presidency said.
President Sall reinstated the post of Prime Minister on Saturday, appointing a former economy minister to the job, two months after a tense legislative election, in which his ruling coalition lost its comfortable majority, Reuters reported.
Amadou Ba is a taxation specialist who previously served as foreign minister, prior to his recent appointment.
His appointment re-established the position of prime minister in the West African country, following its abolition in April 2019.
