Justice Minister to Present Two Bills During An Extraordinary Session Next Week

In a press release dated April 15, 2024, the Office of the Clerk of the Gambia National Assembly announced the convening of the First Extraordinary Session for the 2024 Legislative Year. The session is scheduled for Monday, April 22nd, and Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024.

The release highlights that the purpose of this session is to address urgent state matters, notably the Special Prosecutor’s Office Bill, 2024, and the Special Accountability Mechanism Bill, 2024.

“The Hon. Attorney General and Minister for Justice shall table the aforesaid businesses for the consideration of the Assembly. And daily sitting commences at 10:00 a.m. All those who wish to attend the sittings are requested to obtain an admittance card from the Office of the Clerk at the entrance gate,” the release indicated.  

Furthermore, the Office of the Clerk reminds attendees to adhere to the standard dress code, requiring traditional or formal attire, and to maintain silence during the session’s proceedings.
