The Director of Training and Communications at the Independent Electoral Commission [IEC] has said that the commission has not yet released any lists of multiple voter registration.
“We have released the provisional voter registration lists for the public to scrutinise. But for those who registered multiple times, the revising Court is working on it. I am sure once they are done with it they will publish it as well. But IEC has not released any lists of double registration yet,” Pa Makan Khan told Kerr Fatou.
The IEC Communication Director advised the masses to disregard such information they see on social media.
“The revising court did their filtering and found out that some people registered multiple times in the same polling station, but some people registered in different polling stations. But the revising court will make that clear when they release the list of people double registration. The revising court will start their sitting on the 6th of September 2021 and I am very sure they will release the list once they are done,” he concluded.
Pa Khan, IEC Director of Communications made this revelation to Kerr Fatou in an interview after purported lists of multiple registrations went viral on social media, amid the completion of the 29th May to 11th July 2021 general voter registration.
