‘He Has Not Proven Himself At The Ministry of Youth and Sports’ -Darboe Speaking Of Bakary Badjie

Lawyer Ousainou Darboe, Secretary General and Party leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP) says the Minister of Youth and Sports, Bakary Badjie has not proven himself at his ministry and thus should not be given chance to lead the Kanifing Municipal Council.

“Have you seen what Talib Ahmed Bensouda did in KMC? No one in this country can deny that. Anybody in his right thinking mind will not think of changing Talib Ahmed Bensouda for anybody. If what I am hearing is the truth, he (Bakary Badjie) has not proven himself at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. So who will entrust an important council like Kanifing to him? If what I am hearing in Banjul also is the truth, someone who couldn’t even manage the Independence Stadium, you want to give him the city of Banjul? Let’s all be mindful and give the Councils to people who can run them. In that way you will be doing a lot of service to your country,” Darboe said.

The Secretary-General and Party leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP) made these remarks last Saturday in Gunjur where the National Assembly Member for Kombo South KK Barrow was celebrating his election victory.
