The foundation stone was jointly laid at a brief ceremony on Thursday by Minister Seedy Keita, Minister Fatou Kinteh, Minister Amie Fabureh, Minister Hamat Bah, European Union Ambassador, and the CEO of Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency [GIEPA].
The project would construct a cold store and a processing centre for vegetable production and marketing to avoid post-harvest losses for the growers.
The cold store and the processing centre are expected to boost vegetable production and marketing as well as increase the income and wellbeing of women and youth in the Lower River Region and beyond.
