Former Banjul mayor Bah passes on

The former mayor of Banjul, Abdoulie Bah, has died last night at his residence in Manten Street in Banjul on Saturday morning, the family has announced.

He died after a brief illness and he was in his early 70s.

He will be laid to rest at the Banjul cemetery in Old Jeshwang at 5pm on Saturday.

Bah was voted mayor in 2013 as an independent candidate after he retired from his job as a store attendant at Ports.

He contested again in 2018 but lost to the UDP candidate Rohey Malick Lowe.

He served as a councillor in the 80s.
