The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Dr. Mamadou Tangara, on Tuesday received in audience the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Ma Jianchun, in his office in Banjul.
Ambassador Jianchun expressed delight and thanked The Gambia for the support given to the People’s Republic of China during the just concluded 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. He reminded the Honourable Minister that China will fulfil pledges it made to support the Ministry in terms of equipment to facilitate the work.
In a similar engagement, the Ambassador of Indonesia to The Gambia, His Excellency Mansyur Pangeran, said it is imperative for his Indonesia to strengthen cooperation in the area of scholarship in Agriculture, Economics and Law while urging Gambians to pursue Master Degree and PHd in Indonesia. He added that Indonesia will render support to make the forthcoming 2022 OIC summit in The Gambia a success.
The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) officials also held audience with the Honourable Minister. The officials proposed ways and means to strengthen cooperation with the Government of The Gambia.
The French Charge d’affaires, Joel Godeaux, submitted host country agreement and also informed the Honourable Minister of an extension of invitation for Gambia’s participation to Africa – France meeting.
